Redemption Ring to End Modern Day Slavery– $15

So today I’m randomly looking through Etsy, like I usually do and I cam across these, and my eyes literally welled up with tears. I love seeing the Lord working through others. As Christians we are called to be an example of God’s love and to NOT turn a blind eye to injustice, and these people are shedding light on a problem that is so easy for society to ignore.

I don’t have the exact words to describe what amazing things these rings do to help human trafficking… so I’m going to copy their description and let their words speak for themselves:

“Psalm 72:14 "He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious to him."
Redemptions Rings were and idea that came out of my interest in working to bring young girls out of human trafficking rings here in Arizona and around the world. I started thinking about the word "ring" as I was wearing a wire ring a friend had made for me and how much it caused me to think of these girls trapped in this life. Here is this beautiful girl, trapped in this wire cage.
Then came the idea of Redemption Rings! What a beautiful picture to paint of these girls being "Redeemed" vs "Trafficked". I started making these rings to sell to raise money and awareness for my upcoming trafficking trip to Thailand. :)
Our premise for the rings is buy one, give one. Eveytime you buy a Redemption Ring we give one to a girl being trafficked to share the Redemption story either here in AZ or in another country through other organization / ministry contacts.
Now you can order your own Redemption Ring to wear as a reminder to pray for these girls trapped in these vicious cycles and that they would be Redeemed!

{DIY} Crochet Heart Hair Clip

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOVE Valentines Day!

Here is an adorable crochet pattern for a mini heart hair clip!!

Crochet heart:

tools:

I hook
worsted weight yarn
hair clip of your choice (I prefer snap clips for this)
Hot Glue Gun

Chain 4
4 dc in last chain from hook, ch1, 4dc ch 3,all in same stitch
sl st in center.

Pull tail through the center TIGHT and tie with first tail to make a secure knot. Then using the hot glue gun glue to the hair clip of your choice.

Where my {creativity} lives

A while back we decided to rearrange the house to allow my sons to have their own rooms… this meant my office had to find a new home. We had a front room that we were wanting to turn into a game room.. but hey we could try the office in there.. and now I LOVE it, it’s lot LOTS of natural lighting, it’s still where I can hear everyone, and it has the wall space for my Audrey pictures…. what could be better???

My amazing hubby made this shelving unit for me… and in the jars on top are all my sparkly shiny beads.. I LOVE IT!

My desk… it’s so peaceful.. and I do have a pretty view of grass and trees out that window!!

Cactus And Weeds

You might think because I live in Arizona, this is a post about all the Cactus I see, and all the weeds that seem to pop up out of nowhere. However while praying for wisdom about some situations in my life… I’m sure the Lord used what I see daily as inspiration.. and I had to share this life lesson with you.

We start with this picture:

Ahhh the cactus…

Durable, strong, BEAUTIFUL flowers, slow growing, LOW maintenance, guarded, protected, able to withstand extreme temperatures, resistant, resilient, steadfast with DEEP roots.

I want to be a cactus.

I have come to the realization that I want to be a friend like a Cactus. I take time to grow, but when I do I bloom the most beautiful fruits and flowers, I can withstand just about anything, and as a friend steadfast. But I need to guard my heart, and remain deeply rooted in my Lord and Savior. A cactus can take the beatings of life and still stand firm in the truths of the Bible.

Then there is the second picture:

First we see beauty, color, nature, hope, wishes…

but these are weeds.

Weeds are bad.

Weeds sprout up quickly, weeds can choke out your well maintained garden, weeds can suck the life out of you, Weeds have VERY shallow roots, weeds spread quickly, weeds sometimes come disguised as beautiful flowers; so we allow them to stick around.. and sure enough every time you wish you had pulled it out and not allowed it to flourish and wreak havoc in your garden.

yes weeds are bad.

Have you ever met someone, and you seem to be meant to be friends with that person. You just think the world of them. Then it happens, It could be a friend telling you hey that person isn’t a good influence, or even your spouse who says that person is NOT good for your heart or your walk with the Lord. But they are soooo pretty these other people must not see what I see. They are disrespectful of your family and your values, they lie and manipulate to get things their way… but they read the Bible, but what is the depth of their roots? Y keep forgiving what you know is wrong, even when there is no apology because that is what we as Christ followers are called to do. You don’t bother bringing up what hurts because you know what you will get is hurt more by the excuses, and no accountability, so what’s the point? Then.. the straw that breaks the camels back happens. You realize this person is the dandelion your mom always told you NOT to blow on! Aww man. So you have to remove them from your garden (your life).

Now I’m not saying I have NEVER been the weed, I sure have in my immaturity. We all have the ability to be either a weed or a cactus… we just need to remember that the friendships without deep roots can never last.

This is what the Bible has to say about weeds:

Matthew 13:24-30

He put before them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field; but while everybody was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and then went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well. And the slaves of the householder came and said to him, “Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where, then, did these weeds come from?” He answered, “An enemy has done this.” The slaves said to him, “Then do you want us to go and gather them?” But he replied, “No; for in gathering the weeds you would uproot the wheat along with them. Let both of them grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Collect the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’

Finding my organization…

If you know me you will know that I’m a bit of a scatterbrain. My husband says that there is just too much creativity in my brain that there is no room for organization. That is where HE comes in!
I had my way of organizing my yarn. When I started it was just one plastic bin that held all my yarn… then the collection grew… and grew and grew! To this!

It may not look like much, but there are 4 bins and a basket FULL of yarn!! I think I might have an addiction.
So my wonderful amazing husband… who is also my driving force. Decided that instead of me hoping I have the yarn I need, I would KNOW what I have.
So he built me this….

It has 60 compartments!!!! I’m one super lucky girl to have such a supportive husband!!!
Oh and I have to add.. I do have a TINY bit of organization in my body… here is my collection of buttons!!

What is my mission...
hmmm that is a loaded question.

If it's about my life, it's to be a good example of God's love, and to be the best mom and wife I can be. That sums it up pretty well I think!

Now if it's about Purdy Things... that is something else!
I started Purdy Things as a creative outlet.. I love making things but there is only so much I can make myself, my daughter, and friends and family. So why not share my talent with the world?? I am always and I mean ALWAYS thinking of new things, and wish there were more time in each day to make them all!! But I will get to them eventually! What I really want to do with Purdy Things is make people happy! I want anyone who buys from me to be sooo excited to get their packages, and when they do I hope and pray their face lights up in pure delight!

Not just the feeling of love, but making love a verb in my life,

wanted to paint another one.

stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.

favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
talk to, and I l earned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
learned that we all have to help take care of each
other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of
your time and money to help people who had nothing,
and I learned that those who have something should
give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
productive person when I grow up.

Makes you wonder what they see? What are you doing that they see that you don't want them to see??
A while ago, a woman I know was asked what makes her fabulous.. she said "Being intentional is what makes me fabuous, I'm an intentional mom, wife, friend, and Christian." That really stuck with me. What did she mean intentional?
This poem touches on that VERY nature, and you may think it's accidental, because of the premise of "when you thought I wasn't looking".. well. I had sent this on to the women in my life who shaped me, and my grandma wrote back the most profound one line answer..

"I knew you were looking."

She did everything intentional. Everything she did was to set an example. I've always strived to be so much like her. When I was a teenager I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom when I had kids, because that is what my grandma was when I was younger, she took me to school, picked me up from school, came and got me early when I was sick, took care of me when I was sick (and when I'm sick now I WISH I could go to her house and snuggle up in her bed with my bell)

OK so back to being an intentional person, the world is always watching you. Be intentional with your compassion, be intentional with your time, be intentional with your resources, be intentional with your courtesies. You don't have to be a Christian to be intentional. But do everything for a reason, when you go have fun with your friends, be intentional to show them how much they mean to you, with your mate, be intentional to let them know just how much you care about them, with your parents, be intentional to let them know you appreciate all the did for you.

Women are always growing, and unfortunately there are those women who are intentional in hurting others, I say be intentional to turn a deaf ear to their gossip. I say be intentional to lead by example. Why oh why oh why do women set out to tear down other women? It's a disaster! So be intentional in building other women up.

And remember that though you might not think anyone is paying attention to what you do or say..... SOMEONE always is.

When I started Funky PolkaDot Giraffe over 2 years ago I was making burp cloths and diaper/wipe caddies. I only had a little boy and didn't have much need for bows or clips. I chose the name Funky Polkadot Giraffe because my son ADORES giraffes and I love polka dots and we're a little funky, so it fit us perfectly. When I found out in June of 2008 that I was having a girl my wheels started turning and I started making bows. I started with korkers and it has evolved from there. I owe most everything I know about bow making to my friend Ashby - she's a great teacher and tutorial writer. From there is has snowballed and I started making headbands, princess clips, seasonal ribbon art creations (like my Turkey, Snowman, and Chocolate Bunny). It's been a fun and exciting journey into the creative - there are so many things I want to make, but only so many hours in the day!

In addition to bows I also make car seat canopies - because they were a big hit at baby showers. My friend told me the other day - "This is my most favorite gift ever!" The car seat canopies keep strange hands from being tempted to touch your precious new baby, give them some place dark and quiet to nap, protect from the elements, and don't blow away or fall off like a blanket thrown over the top does. Bows can be added to the straps at no additional charge.

My camera strap slipcovers come padded at no extra charge. My thinking with the strap covers is - you have the fancy dancy camera - you need a fancy dancy strap to match it! Custom orders are welcome and I love working with customers to make something special they'll love.

I've been married to the love of my life for almost 9 years and it's gone by in the blink of an eye. I used to be a second grade teacher and I believe second grade is the magic year! I love to read, craft, play with my kids and hang out with my fab friends.

WOW.. time flies when you MOVE!

When I saw that this weeks challenge was barefoot, I knew I had to enter this photo!!! My daughter LOVES being barefoot, and I love this picture of her!! What is even better about this week having a barefoot theme is that it is for a great cause.

We have the privilege to decide when and if we want to be barefoot, and sadly MANY people don't. How many pair of shoes do you have that you haven't worn in FOREVER?? Could you part with them?? While at church a few years ago we were challenged to do more then get rid of the ratty old shoes we don't wear anymore, we were challenged to give the shoes right off our feet. Tim and I met that challenge, and then ran our errands and such the rest of the day barefoot... we got some weird looks, and when we explained why we got even weirder looks, and then we would run into people who were also barefoot and with a knowing smile we would not at each other, knowing that we gave our "Sunday best" to those who don't have any, that shoe drive at church over the next 3 weeks raised over 30,000 pairs of shoes... since then I don't just give old shoes to the Goodwill, I give them to shelters. It's a good way to give back!

I'm sure it's happened to ALL of us! We come up with something that we can't find anywhere else... lo' and behold a week later someone has been "inspired" by our design!
Or we have found a GREAT way to word our listings, and someone uses the copy and paste feature and uses it word for word.
Now I know the saying "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". It is supposed to be flattering but in reality it's downright frustrating... and rude. No-one likes it.
So that is rule number one.. don't copy someones style. If you are inspired to make something similar to someone else, take care to make it your own. I know there are some mediums where everyone seems to have the same thing... crochet (my medium of choice!) is one of them. There are TONS of sellers out there with similar hats, scarves, washcloths, booties, cuffs, you get the idea. Jewelry is another medium like that. It is hard in a saturated market to stand out with your individuality.
So what can you do??
It's your personal style and spin on things that makes you unique.
Make sure that all your items are a reflection of YOU.
You want people to see your items and KNOW where it came from!! Make sure that all your items are a reflection of YOU.
When someone copies you.. remember what comes around goes around.

Yes that is right!! Be nice! Have you ever been in the forums and seen the rude poster and thought I would NEVER buy from someone who is mean like that?? Well guess what... it applies to you to!!
So in the forums and in the chat...
if you don't have anything nice to say, it's better for sales to NOT say anything at all!!
Don't jump on the bandwagon complaining about the Etsy Admin.
DO be encouraging to new sellers
DO be positive and uplifting

DO put your links on the bottom of convos and emails
DON'T convo people who have hearted an item and tell them it's on sale
DO post your sales in the forums (under promotions)
DON'T Hijack someone else's post to tell about your sale
DO Email those who have asked to be updated about specials and promotions
DON'T Email everyone in your address book
DO Post on pertinent blogs and put your link as part of your signature
DON'T Post on Blogs with your sales and links

When you see hear the term "Golden Arches" what do you think of???? McDonalds of course!!

Why is that??? Branding. They have that logo on EVERYTHING they do!! Even their McGriddles have the Arches in them!

If you hear about Target what image pops into your mind??? That red and white bulls eye!

You are probably thinking that it has NOTHING to do with your little Etsy shop... WRONG.

Etsy Seller EnchantedMemories has this to say about Branding:

"Branding is important for any business no matter the size. It helps create a professional appearance that creates buyer confidence. Branding can also be beneficial to your sales in it creating a recognizable brand for your products."

So when your business card matches your logo, and your return labels match your banner, and your blog ties it all together... when people see those images, they think of you!

Think of it this way...

You get a purchase... you nicely package it up, stick a few cards in it, and send it on to it's new home..

When they get it, do they see a card that matches your banner?? So when they come across it again they instantly remember your shop??

OR

Do they get it, come across the card later, and think.. what was that shop again?? I know I got an awesome product from it, but what else was there??

Branding is SO very important...I can't stress it enough... branding will bring repeat buyers!!

I really love Barbie at EnchantedMemories... she makes cute yet professional all in one branding sets, and she also does custom orders. I think I really like her because she is a mom like me!!

Maya Angelou is one of my mentors in life. I've never met her, but I've read her books, all of them. Her life is an inspiration. She has been through it all, abuse, persecution, she was a big part of the Civil Rights movement, she's lived all over. She's a poet and author, if you have never read her books, I suggest you do!!

My love of bird cages comes from the book "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" The quote from the book "A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer it sings because it has a song" speaks VOLUMES to me. I want to share what it means to me, please comment and share what means to you!

As a creative person, I always want to say something about me in my work. I don't make things because I can, I make things because I LOVE to! I want people to see the things I make, and see me in them. See my passion for the items I create, and see my love of color, yarn, paper, and buttons!!

As a human being, we all go through trials, and life lessons. We don't share these experiences with people because we have all the answers, we share them because it's our life, and our song. We are meant to go through these things to learn and share. It's not an answer, it's life. Think about the times you are listening to the radio and a song just resonates with you. Then you find out that the singer wrote the song based on life experiences.... doesn't it just mean so much more to you??

I feel we all have a song, we all have something to share, and it's not the great answer to life, it's about making the bonds and connections in life.

My husband got called out on storm work to restore power to the people in Arkansas.

I have serious insomnia when he isn't here...

WOW! Yesterdays post... today!

So Today you will get twice the posts!!! I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, hubby got called out to work the ice storm that is supposed to hit Missouri tonight. So now, here I am, alone with 3 kids and 2 dogs... but it's nothing new. Been here before! :)

I am glad I didn't post yesterday though... last night I met a seller on Etsy... OH WOW!!! As soon as I saw her shop I gasped at the fabulous treasure boxes she has! I showed hubby while he was packing and even he said OH WOW! Which is RARE. I had to write her to tell her JUST how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE her shop! Lets see.. what are my resolutions this year?
First, I want to listen more, listen to God, my husband, my kids, and listen to the stories people tell of their lives.

I learned this year that listening to God is alot easier if you do it the FIRST time...
Before He has to hit me in the head with a brick to see it His way! The blessings are great when you follow what He puts in front of you. Sometimes the road is rough and bumpy, but it's so worth it! Remember God will never give you more then you can handle with HIS help!

Second, I want to take Purdy Things to a whole new level.

Third, I want to use my gifts to further the kingdom.

Fourth, I want to keep this blog ALOT more current!!!

WHEW! I usually say I'm not going to make resolutions, but I think I can do these, no I know I can do these.

This past year has been probably the BIGGEST roller coaster of my life.
But I've put all of my faith in God, and know that HE is in control. He hasn't let us down yet. Things haven't been the way we want, but we have been so blessed.

Wow what a month it's been! I've been on the biggest emotional roller coaster...
First, Right before Halloween, we found out my beloved adored and cherished grandma "Honey" had to have open heart surgery! She is doing well now, and on the road to recovery, but man the thought of losing her ripped my heart open!

Second Purdy Things has taken off!!!!
I have been SO busy making hats, filling orders, doing craft shows, making connections!! I LOVE it!!!

I've offered free shipping for Christmas!! All custom orders need to be in to me by Saturday so I can get them to you in time!! :)

So What if You Fail??

I have failed more times then I can count.... I'm not talking failing a test at school either. I have failed at this thing we call life. Then again so has everyone at one point or another right?? In the past weeks we have had a series called Fail at church. The bottom line is "Your life isn't futile, and your failures aren't fatal" You can always return home to those who love you. You can always pick yourself back up and keep going. Forgive yourself, let others forgive you, and be thankful that God is always there to forgive you.... NO MATTER WHAT!

The lessons learned in my failings, have made me the person I am today. I am proud of what I have overcome and accomplished. I would fall flat on my face time and time again to end up in the place I am now. I'm at peace with my failings, I'm grateful for my failings, and I expect to fail again. So what if we fail?? We live and learn. And that is the glorious journey we are all on.

Frogs???

So yesterday while attempting to sweep the back yard from the mess the wonderful storm left us.... we discovered a family of frogs living in our back yard!! Now if you know me well you know that I LOVE frogs. However. If they are bigger then my thumb, I have NO desire to touch or hold them. EEK! I don't know what kind they are.. they are slightly chubby, with these big fat back legs and these amazing webbed feet. Drew (the oldest) caught one, and brought it to me to see, and just as I got close, he jumped, I screamed, Drew laughed, then we all laughed. I managed to get as close as I could without getting the heeby jeebys to get these pictures!!

A bit of a change...New Adventures

I've decided to change this blog a bit...
I will still feature awesome handmade goods I find, and their creators! But I will also be sharing more of my life, more of the beautiful things in life, that just make me smile. Life is WAY to short to focus on all the ugly things in this world!

So I will start with what's new in my life...
I am now officially a homeschooling mom... WOW. I honestly never thought that declaration would EVER come from me! My middle son has dyslexia, and an Auditory Processing Deficiency. For the longest time I felt that the best place for him is in school, where teachers with degrees could help him, here is the not so purdy part. This year his teacher was horrible. The lack of communication ended up causing probably the worst blow to R's self esteem he's ever had. I would try to communicate with her, with either no communication in return, or very limited. Seeing my sons confidence suffer, seeing the dejected way he was going about learning, was heartbreaking. So I prayed for him, I prayed about the path I should follow. I started feeling God leading me in the direction of home schooling him. This came about when I sat him down and told him that God did NOT make a mistake when he was made. I reminded him of Psalm 139:14
"I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well". When I saw that it helped him, and that R felt secure in himself again, it was like God telling me, you can encourage him in ways a public school teacher NEVER can. We had a meeting with the teacher last Tuesday, her suggestion was that I write notes in his agenda if he has an issue with his homework. Wednesday he had an issue, so I wrote her. Got the agenda Thursday, no reply, wrote again, Friday NO reply. I was flabbergasted! Not 2 days after SHE suggested a form of communication she neglects it too!? I knew deep in my soul that there was NO WAY in good conscience leave him in her hands, even for another week! Saturday we had a meeting with my home schooling mentor, who helped me in the direction of what direction we will go.
*Here is the purdy part:
Monday was R's last day of "public" school. I had a meeting with the Principal Monday morning, to explain to her my decision, and it was AMAZING she 100% supports our decision. She was also shocked to find out that the lack of communication, she apologized for letting us down. I let her know I appreciated ALL she had tried to do for us. I do have 2 other children in that school! They have wonderful teachers. Soooo Tuesday was the first day of Adventure Christian School. It went pretty well, and he said that his favorite part about school is the Bible time. Today was day 2, and we had an amazing day! I saw his brain working, I saw his drive to learn, I saw him smile more then I have in YEARS while doing school work. It was a beautiful day. I know not all days will be this glorious, but on those days, I will cling to these days!

I met this artist in Etsy chat... yes I LOVE Etsy Chat! With my husband being out of town for work, it's a great outlet to chat with other artistic creative people.
When I saw Jocelyn's store FlowerLeaf the first time, I couldn't leave.. the colors she uses are amazing, she has a wonderful eye for the unique and has gorgeous jewelry! The type of work I have in my store currently is handmade cards, gift tags, magnets, jewelry, hand blown and cast glass and giclee prints of illustrations that my husband created.
The work that I'm focusing on the most right now are hand made cards, invitations and gift tags. I have also done custom orders for jewelry cards and soap wraps for a couple of sellers. I am planning on launching a new line of wedding invitations, save the dates, bachelorette and bridal shower invitations in the near future!

I was fascinated with beads as a kid. Approximately 21 years ago, I decided I could take on the challenge. I went to a bead store and bought everything necessary to make traditional Indian earrings and a book with instructions. I sat down and taught myself how to bead. The concept wasn't hard, but perfecting the technique, well now that's another story, as they say practice makes perfect. Some of my work has been published in a book, "Dancing Light". I make Mother's bracelets, wedding sets.... if you can dream it I can make it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the classic vintage items in this shop!! Yes it's another chat find.. 'm a 24 year old fashion-obsessed photographer living in Utah (?!) with my husband and our menagerie of pets.
I've been shooting for over 6 years, and have only in the last two decided to step into the professional photography world. Living in Southern Utah has made it a bit difficult to find the pieces I need to create the images that are in my mind...so I started making things myself. I have a small obsession with all things victorian/edwardian and I adore renaissance paintings. I also inherited far too much lace and fabric from my mom. The only solution? Make it into lovely collars, cuffs, and other accessories. I now have pieces to use for photoshoots, & I can share my style with the world (and Courtney Love!).
I also sketch, kayak, drink looooads of tea, and play in a band with my husband - Minor Birds.
All my pieces are completely stitched by hand, and all my prints come in practically any size!

One of my featured sellers DestinationDesign said that Leakhena was her favorite shop.. so in my Etsy Chat adventures I came across her... and told her that she was a favorite shop of someone featured on this blog. We got to chatting, and she's SUCH a great person, and her shop is AMAZING!!! I have one of her newest creations on my birthday wish list!! Artist Bio:
I’m 28 years old and originally from Sydney Australia. For the last 13 years or so I have been living in Northern California, mainly bay area. I have been crafting for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a big family. As a kid I was very fortunate to have two creative and loving parents who were extremely supportive of my artistic endeavours and enrolled each one of us in some sort of music or art classes. Probably, my fondest memories was crafting with my Grandma and my Mum.
In college, I worked several jobs to help pay for tuition since tuition was fairly high, especially for international students like myself attending UC Berkeley. One of the jobs I did beside being a waiter was making jewelry. I’ve also made jewelry for my family and friends and have received many great compliments.

In 2006, I lost someone very near and dear to my heart – the love of my life. I kept myself busy and contiued crafting. It was my way of dealing with grief and loss. Crafting has been very therapeutic for me.
I found Etsy last year in July and it has become my creative outlet . I don’t consider myself an artist. Maybe I’m still in the process of becoming one?? I do know that I am always learning something new and always improving. Aside from crafting I also enjoy cooking and baking ,working out and spending time with my friends. I am almost 30, I’ve been screen printing for 7 years, and I’m having a blast doing it!

I started Withremote in 2002 while working on my senior thesis at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, MN on “Graffiti as a form of Graph Design”. Back then most of my work was photocopies and stencils (I think I lost a lot of brain cells back then from spray paint). I built up a screen printing studio in St. Paul over a few months in 2005 to start creating rock posters and art prints. I try and make at least one print run a week depending on my schedule. Generally I try and create a different style for each print I make. Usually my prints come out of whatever I’m doing that week or something that I saw/heard that I want to make a print in response to. A few times I have had people ask me how many people work in my studio to make this much work. I say “just me”.
Through the use of screen printing I create art prints and other items that are a response to the world around me.

Im LaurenKathryn, but to most, the 'Crazy Button Lady' because buttons make my heart beat, and my blood pump.
